RISIGNOLO ESTATE
RISIGNOLO ESTATE
Salemi, in the province of Trapani, is the most vineyard-rich province in Italy. In these sun-drenched countryside, you will find Risignolo, the second of the Duca di Salaparuta Estates, chosen for its hilly location (between 300 and 350 meters above sea level) that ensures good ventilation and offers the benefits of proximity to the sea while avoiding excessive heat exposure. In these areas, selected by Duca di Salaparuta for their healthiness and dryness, white grape varieties like Grillo and Insolia find their ideal soil and are cultivated in the most natural way. Grillo is a grape variety rich in history that has spread primarily in the Marsala and Trapani areas, where its characteristics have made it a key player in the production of Marsala wine. However, Duca di Salaparuta has demonstrated that this grape variety has great potential when cultivated at higher altitudes, vinified in purity, and even used in sparkling wine production. But the Risignolo Estate is located in an area also suited for the production of what is probably the oldest Sicilian native grape variety, Insolia, which, thanks to its refined aromatic bouquet and intense personality, has won over the world. Climate – Temperate, with mild winters and very dry springs and summers, featuring significant temperature fluctuations.

SUSTAINABILITY
The Duca di Salaparuta Estates – Suor Marchesa, Vajasindi, and Risignolo – are managed through an integrated production system, which includes agronomic and phytosanitary practices that restrict the use of phytosanitary products and the number of treatments, allowing only mechanical weed control. So, there is utmost respect for the vineyard and its fruits, which remain intact in the glass, thanks to equally sustainable practices in the winery.
